Homemade Wreath

I made the wreath mainly out of elements found outside in nature. I collected some tree bark early fall in New Hampshire, some Moss and Liken, Pinecones, Acorns etc...
The only thing I bought was the foam wreath from Michaels

I absolutely love how rustic and natural it looks. I put it on display on top of an old mirror and spread some fake snow and glitter in the middle

Do you own a hot glue gun? The possibilities are endless... go out in the yard and gather some things and get to work baby!
Enjoy your day

Cool Presents 2012

I have to share with you 2 cool gifts that I got from Santa this year.
All my presents were AWESOME by the way,  but these were a little bit different.
For the candle lover...year of wishes scented candle for each month

Isn't this neat? I absolutely love it. Imagine going for a bike ride with your love with the picnic basket resting comfortably on your back...cooler for the wine...utilities and a blanket....Nice!
It's all in there...even the wine opener and the salt and pepper shakers...
What did Santa bring you?

Merry Christmas

This has got to be my favorite picture of Virgin Mary and her new baby Jesus...I am not very religious but I believe...I believe in positive energy... I believe in Karma and I believe in kindness.
I love this picture because it reminds me of the good Ole Sunday school days. I used to participate and frequently played a Lucia in services.
The Bible stories I was told and I read in the past are all good ones.
They made me feel good and that's the message.
The picture below captures a Mother's love for her newborn...It has always fascinated me

With this lovely picture I would like to wish you A Merry Christmas!
May your Holidays be peaceful and surrounded by all your loved ones.

Gift wrapping

This year I am into the brown paper...The homemade look, ribbon or twine really doesn't matter but adding a little something as a decoration like that simple twig makes it fun

Here is a great idea of using your children's art work as a wrapping paper
I like this one...

And the labels...there are so many ideas out there if you have the time and love DIY
all you need is card stock and a stamp really....

A pretty picture and a printer works fine too!

Ready To Wrap?

Sentimental Tree

My kids have brought home all kinds of Christmas Ornaments that they made in school. Some really cool and some that never quite make it to the tree but are packed safely away in boxes marked by their names. Here are the nominees....I'm sorry I get carried away :-)
What I meant was some of my favorites

Brilliant Idea...
This one was made by my daughter in Girl Scouts....lid of a can, hammer and nail...simple and fun

Awwwweeee....no wonder I get sentimental when I trim the tree...

My youngest made this one...A dog treat and a pipe cleaner...
He's always been a bit of a clown so pay no attention to where he placed the nose....

Not sure what the witch is doing there....but somehow made it on the tree!

Who can resist this cute little face....His first year playing soccer...
Now I am seriously getting all mushy

I remember when my middle son made this in Nursery School. When the teacher opened the door to let the kids out, everyone ran to their parents and showed them what they had made....The girls decorated with bright colors and flowers but the boys were into the darkest of colors...kind of funny...they were only 4 years old!

Hope you enjoyed the memory ride with me...and that concludes the show of my Christmas Tree

All we need is gifts under the tree now!

Homemade Ornaments

Homemade and simple. When I lived in Pennsylvania I got to know some awesome ladies that were into painting their own Christmas ornaments. We met in the evenings typically after the kids went to bed and we painted and chatted. I always cherish those times and the ornaments we came up with...Needless to say they trim my Christmas Tree still to this day

I can't take credit for the sleigh below but it's really cute.
It was given to me at my workplace when we played Secret Santa

Decoupage with the latest headlines...pretty cool idea.
Of course I had to put a picture of Steve Jobs on there...(RIP)

Hope you got some ideas for future projects.
Thanks for stopping by

Oh Christmas Tree

The only thing that never changes is how I decorate the Christmas Tree. It's been the same year after year and I usually don't buy new ornaments unless I am traveling and see a cute souvenir from the place or something that reminds me of a great time. We started out like everybody else with a small tree which grew with time, switching to an artificial tree 10 years ago was a blessing and brilliance...
The ornaments are mostly handmade, either by me, the kids or my Mother which was the ultimate Martha Stewart of crafts...no kidding. She produced so many beautiful things weither it was knitting, sewing, quilting or pottery...she did it all! She made a habit out of putting one handmade ornament as a decoration on each Christmas present which we hung up on the tree later. Needless to say we have accumulated quite a few of those which are so precious to us since she passed away few years ago from cancer at the very young age of 60. We decorate the tree in her honor on her Birthday December 16th. Here are few of her pieces

Thanks for visiting the blog, hope you enjoyed It!
