Pier One Imports

Have their Christmas items on display!
I had to run in for some candles yesterday and as soon as I walked in I was in awe. Their reindeer's are adorable. I had to use my phone to snap pictures so forgive me if the quality isn't the best.

 Mommy, Daddy and the Baby

There were more creatures than reindeer's...Of course the traditional owls and squirrels

The Rep at the store told me they were moving fast so if you want them act quickly.

I {heart} Ikea

On my last trip to Ikea they already had their Christmas Decor out. I couldn't resist these hearts. I just put them up last night but traded out the ribbons for a little nicer ones

I put them up in my kitchen window

I also grabbed a larger heart and I was thinking that it might look cute for Valentine's

Did you notice the horse? I got it for $9 bucks at TJ Maxx....How? Always make sure you check out the clearance rack. There is a collection of things that have minor things wrong with them and sometimes you can't even find anything wrong. In this case one of the wires underneath had snapped off so when I came home I got out my glue gun and fixed it! I love the look.

I am starting to add a little bit of Christmas to the house...In between Fall....

Are you digging the Scandinavian vibe?
Enjoy your day

Oh Christmas Tree

The only thing that never changes is how I decorate the Christmas Tree. It's been the same year after year and I usually don't buy new ornaments unless I am traveling and see a cute souvenir from the place or something that reminds me of a great time. We started out like everybody else with a small tree which grew with time, switching to an artificial tree 10 years ago was a blessing and brilliance...
The ornaments are mostly handmade, either by me, the kids or my Mother which was the ultimate Martha Stewart of crafts...no kidding. She produced so many beautiful things weither it was knitting, sewing, quilting or pottery...she did it all! She made a habit out of putting one handmade ornament as a decoration on each Christmas present which we hung up on the tree later. Needless to say we have accumulated quite a few of those which are so precious to us since she passed away few years ago from cancer at the very young age of 60. We decorate the tree in her honor on her Birthday December 16th. Here are few of her pieces

Thanks for visiting the blog, hope you enjoyed It!

House Lanterns and Reindeer's

I have noticed that these are everywhere I go....

Scandinavian style zinc houses....and they are so beautiful. I want one.....

Tis the season for Reindeers....

So far I have not found any zinc houses or reindeers that I want, perhaps that's why I want them so bad :-)
Have a great day

So cozy in Iceland

This time of year is dark here in Iceland but we light it up with Christmas lights and candles. Here is the arrangement in my apartment. It's a simple thing I put together. A tray and a holly from Ikea and some pine cones...I walked by a flower store here in my hometown on Saturday and saw this ceramic house in the window which I couldn't resist! I think I will bring it with me to the US when I leave. In case you are wondering about the reindeer....it's a candle! I had totally forgotten about them, I guess I brought a couple of them last year with me when we spent the new years here and completely forgot....What a nice surprise for me...The price sticker was still on them.....Marshalls $12.99
Needless to say I am getting a little sticker shock regarding prices on regular household items here. I don't mind when I am buying handmade items or designer things but it's amazing how much money everything costs here and I am just talking about silly little things that cost nothing in America.
Here is a little sneak peak of my arrangement. I took this picture at 3:30 pm and it was getting dark already

More to come on the apartment....It's hard to take pictures and beat the daylight...

My Advent Arrangement

I am so tempted to do two Advent Wreath arrangements this year....I feel like I cheated because when I hauled  the floral box out of the basement and peeked in I saw that not only had I the moss like I thought but the berries and six small clay flower pots probably from a project that never got finished....I even had the ribbon...so it was easy to decide which Advent Wreath I would do....And the winner is....

I painted the clay pots white (light coat) and filled them with styrofoam balls that fit perfectly in it. Next I stuck the candles in (they popped right in) and covered with moss and little berries and arranged them on a little tray I had....very simple!

I also found this wreath among other things when I started digging into the box....so I hung it up with a silk ribbon in the hallway....Isn't it cute?
I can't wait to start "Really" decorating for Christmas...but I am waiting till after Thanksgiving:-)
Have a great one
