My youngest

Finally I am sharing with you my youngest son's bedroom. A couple of years ago we got him a full size bed. I blogged about that HERE....This time around after the new carpets were installed we just switched the position of the bed and cleaned out a couple of things that he had outgrown

Last summer Bjarki picked up a Ukulele and started playing. He had never played or shown any interest before. He has been playing since and has gotten quite good to his Father's delight. Now we have jam sessions with those two!
Have a good week!

Master Bedroom mini makeover

Since the bathroom renovation is completely done it's definitely time to spruce up the Master bedroom. It's been a long snowy winter and everyone has had enough of the cold. I wanted to bring a little Spring into the room for my own sanity. Now usually the bedroom is off limit for girly colors and deco but one day after school I stopped by Home Goods and as soon as I walked in these coral pillows were hollering at me. I grabbed 4 pillows that didn't match and all had the coral color in common. At the sales rack I got even happier....Giddy.... They were getting rid of the gold...Yes!
I never thought I would ever ever dig gold again but I do. It is allowed to change your mind from time to time so I saw the perfect opportunity to marry these colors.

I will show you the before's first

This is taken after a little touch of Deco power...

Beautiful mismatched pillow collection....Home Goods $75

I found the coral lacy pillow covers for $10

Instead of Omaggio vase I choose to call this Brynmaggio Vase
also at HG for $10

Mirrors for the wall HG $ 14.99

Artificial branch...because it's cool and I am cool.... HG $18

Gold candle holders (I got 2) $9.99 each

Glass tray HG $6.99

I only paid $2 for the gold frames

I swapped out the table lights and put the other ones in the guest room

I switched out the 2 chairs that were sitting next to the dresser and pulled in this old wicker chair I had and never used

I picked up this picture above the bed HG sale item $20

The lamp I paid full price for but it came to a whipping $20 at HG
I also went to Michaels and got Gold spray
So the whole thing came to be just less than $200
The most expensive things were the pillows and they are usually pricey.
I have to tell you that I thrilled with my new bedroom.
What do you think?

Master Bedroom Charlestown

The Master bedroom is coming along nice. This week they are putting up the blinds for the bedrooms. I decided to deal with a new company called 3dayblinds. They come to you and measure. In 3 days the blinds are ready and you get an installment appointment. The prices are good. Very comparable to H.Depot and Lowe's.
Enough talk...let's see some photos
Here is the before

After Painting and new floors

At first I used these lamps that I already had on hand but after getting the nightstands I decided to go for something bigger

I got this bedspread below at Ikea... I like it alot

I am planning on painting this wall blue as well...I think it goes better with the yellowish hue on the furniture. In the meantime there is art work laid out but not up yet.

So that's how it looks right now. I will post more once the window treatments are up. Hopefully they will come and clean those windows for me in the meantime!
Happy Monday

Guest Bedroom Reveal

For the past 2 weeks I have worked so hard at moving into the Charlestown Pad that we bought in May. I can finally say after spending the day down there with my son that we are so close to being done. There are things left to do and arrange for, but things take time and there is no reason to hurry up and buy stuff you are not sure of...like Lights and Curtains...
Today I finished setting up the guest bedroom and I am very pleased. I would describe it as Scandinavian and Romantic at the same time...Time will work with me on the closet doors but I ripped them out when we started the demo. Baby steps here...

Initially I set up the furniture like this but today I decided to rearrange to create more space...

So this is how the room looks right now. Not terribly personal and rather neutral which is ok for now. I just made an appointment with a blind company that come in and measure windows. I think vertical blinds would be an excellent choice...
What do you think? Would you sleep in this bedroom?
Thanks so much for following my blog, it makes me so happy to see it grow every day and the FB "likes" make me so Giddy!
Enjoy your night
