A Crochet Post

When I started crocheting about a year ago learning step by step from youtube videos I never dreamed that I would be making things to give out as presents.
Finally I am confident enough to do that! Here is my latest finished project... A baby blanket for a friend that is expecting
HERE  is a link to tutorial for this easy blanket from Melanie Hamm

I used this yarn from Martha Stewart. It's a wool mix that is really lightweight

I decided to weed through my leftover yarn and put to good use, so I started this blanket....perfect for a toddler or a young person. I used Wanna Whites selection for Lion Brand

Since 3 is a good number and I get easily bored I decided to do another one that I keep in my purse so I can grab it and work on it at soccer practices and appointments... This one is a very lightweight baby blanket perfect size for the car seat. I used a yarn from Bernat. The color is called Princess

So that's all I got for you. It's been pretty hectic lately and I haven't had a chance to blog as much. I hope everyone has a Happy and Healthy Fourth of July weekend!

Amigurumi and my craft room

Let me introduce you to Mr. Murasaki! My first try at Amigurumi. I have collected the recipes for these crocheted creatures for a while but too intimidated to try. Finally I did it. I started with an elephant which I found out later that it's not that easy. So my blog friend Stina Saem sent me this recipe of a simple Amigurumi Own. Here is the free RECIPE

My version of Mr. Murasaki is very different from what it looks like in the recipe but I actually think he came out ok....It took me an hour to crochet and I used some cotton yarn that I bought from Etsy while back.

I have been busy with the bedroom upstairs. New carpets are being put in. I had to empty the rooms since they will do all three rooms at the same time. I also organized my craft room...I moved stuff around and made room for more yarn!

I love this set up. The room is usually bright and cozy

Enjoy today!

Charger theft protection

I bet you've been there....your device is really low on battery and you need to charge STAT only to find out that someone stole your cord.....
Well it's annoying. Period. How many chargers are laying around and why does everyone have to take yours and deny it? Here is my kind of theft protection.
(as seen on pinterest)
I took my really worn out Ipad cord and crocheted around it....

I used fine cotton yard that I had on hand

I used 2 colors. The white is more for swag and it looks a little more sturdy

I have been busy crocheting since March of last year. I learned from Youtube videos. It's a fun hobby to have and a great time killer. I am constantly working on projects....several at a time ....I love learning new patterns....Below is a little sample of what I am currently working on

The blanket is not from a recipe. It's basically 2 double crochets into one slot all the way across. I just love how chunky it looks and the beautiful colors. This is wool yarn that I got at Michael's

Look at me Mom....

This baby blanket below is from I Heart Stitching. HERE is the link to the video. It's super easy and quick. The yarn is from Bernat and so so soft.

Few dishcloths I am working on just for fun

Here is my latest pattern that I learned. It's called Slanted Shell Stitch. I came across this recipe on one of the crochet sites I follow on FB. Here is the LINK

My Girlfriend gave me this Lazy Suzy container for my Birthday. It's really cool and has a lot of spaces. I was having fun with it and used it for yarn that I carry to and from the Family room.

That's all for now....Hope I inspired someone....
