A Sunday afternoon in Charlestown

No words needed. Hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I do!

Window treatments & etc

We got blinds for the apartment! I decided to play it safe and contact 3 Day Blinds. They came and measured, ordered and installed. I highly recommend them. If you haven't heard of them it's because they are new in Massachusetts... Here is their LINK

You can arrange for the whole thing online

I felt like the only way to go was with vertical blinds since the windows cover the wall from top to bottom. I didn't want the window covering taking over the rooms so I opted for something really neutral. I also put up some pictures...some new and some that I had already

Here is the guest room. I love the vertical blinds in there...makes it look sleek

Last weekend we installed the closet doors. Sliding glass doors from Home Depot

I went to IKEA today to get shelves and poles for the inside and I decided on this unit

It's very sturdy and priced nicely $190

I am not installing the doors though...but it's a great base

Few things got their places on the walls...

My girlfriend from Iceland gave me this wall sticker earlier in the year. I held on to it because as soon as we bought the apartment I knew where it would look good

This is an Icelandic saying that means "Lord Bless This Home"

Adding stuff to the walls little by little... My daughter kept me company that day. I kept asking for her opinion and going against it! Sorry Karitas... She diagnosed me on the spot with OCD and ADD...all mixed in one. My answer to her is LOL!

And then some...Moving things around to get the right feel is necessary

I know...I have this thing for round things with mirrors in the middle.

Enjoy your Tuesday

Master Bedroom Charlestown

The Master bedroom is coming along nice. This week they are putting up the blinds for the bedrooms. I decided to deal with a new company called 3dayblinds. They come to you and measure. In 3 days the blinds are ready and you get an installment appointment. The prices are good. Very comparable to H.Depot and Lowe's.

Enough talk...let's see some photos

Here is the before

After Painting and new floors

At first I used these lamps that I already had on hand but after getting the nightstands I decided to go for something bigger

I got this bedspread below at Ikea... I like it alot

I am planning on painting this wall blue as well...I think it goes better with the yellowish hue on the furniture. In the meantime there is art work laid out but not up yet.

So that's how it looks right now. I will post more once the window treatments are up. Hopefully they will come and clean those windows for me in the meantime!

Happy Monday

Little changes

It's amazing how little changes can make a difference. I purchased a wall clock at Home Goods this summer for the new apartment which I absolutely adored. When It came time to put it on the wall it was just sitting there all weird. I am not sure what it was that I didn't like about it, maybe the shape for that wall or just how it was sitting...

I might take the clock back and get a refund since the price tag was still on plus I still

have the receipt. In the meantime I caught a glimpse of this beautiful clock at Target

so I put it up instead of the other one and I love the look!

Of course this is work in progress...figuring out what fits and finding the perfect picture or thingy to put where. That's where I usually take my time.

Don't get me wrong...it's a beautiful clock...maybe better when it's not hanging?

Oh wait...should I maybe just hold on to it?

Bistro/Kitchen Reveal

Once upon a time there was this apartment...

And from the other angle...

The pictures speak for themselves...2 walls down and the outcome was amazing. It got much brighter in the main living area and the long hallway got shortened

After furniture delivery...Tadah

We kept the kitchen mostly the same...New ceilings, paint and floor. We added a little cabinet on the wall as well...Here is before picture:

Here are some before and after photos which are always fun to look at:

Next I am planning on showing you the master bedroom...I am not completely done in there...Hopefully some pictures will go up this week and final decorations. The apartment still doesn't have that "home" feeling to it yet but I think that will change when we start spending time in there...

Hope you enjoyed looking at the changes

Hugs
