Amigurumi and my craft room

Let me introduce you to Mr. Murasaki! My first try at Amigurumi. I have collected the recipes for these crocheted creatures for a while but too intimidated to try. Finally I did it. I started with an elephant which I found out later that it's not that easy. So my blog friend Stina Saem sent me this recipe of a simple Amigurumi Own. Here is the free RECIPE

My version of Mr. Murasaki is very different from what it looks like in the recipe but I actually think he came out ok....It took me an hour to crochet and I used some cotton yarn that I bought from Etsy while back.

I have been busy with the bedroom upstairs. New carpets are being put in. I had to empty the rooms since they will do all three rooms at the same time. I also organized my craft room...I moved stuff around and made room for more yarn!

I love this set up. The room is usually bright and cozy

Enjoy today!

Organization

Yesterday I went from this

To That...

I had a big bowl of Make-Up on the counter and even more in my drawers.  I love organizing and it makes me so happy when the "system" actually works.
First thing I did was to weed out stuff that was old and expired and toss...it's amazing how much you accumulate through the years. I got these organizers few years ago for my daughter at Bed Bath and Beyond. She wasn't using them anymore so I snagged them

The tray fits perfectly into the bathroom drawers

Out of sight, organized and easy to find things. Little things like that make me happy!

Enjoy your weekend!
Looks like a busy one here.
Leaves are everywhere and it's time for Fall clean up and putting stuff away for the winter.

Pantry Makeover

I decided to attack the pantry yesterday after coming home from the Supermarket. It was so crowded in there...wasted space and few things that were ready to be tossed. I started grabbing things but then I remembered the camera so one shelf was already gone....Sorry I get ahead of myself most of the times
Here are the before:

I was feeling extraordinary good about my carpenter skills and decided to add some shelves on the sides. (I ran to Target $39.99) Having found that newfound confidence in drilling into walls I tackled this project with style!
Here are the after photos:

Everything has it's own place now (please don't judge my choice of food)
The little white cart with the wheels was my son's nightstand (IKEA) before he got the new bedroom set...works perfectly there!
I am so happy I did this...
I think it will make it easier to figure out what to cook each day. My son pointed out to me that I might want to paint inside of the pantry door with chalk paint so I could whip up grocery lists and write up a meal plan...Of course I am all over that

When I was done it got so roomy in the kitchen cabinets so I kept on going to the baking section....I printed out labels and put everything in plastic containers instead of keeping it all in bags. I like the look of it now...so clean

Now off to run errands for my son's Birthday Shin dig tonight

Dream Pantry

Who wouldn't love to have a perfectly organized pantry? Here in the U.S people with a standard American kitchen have a closet like pantry. There is a space with a door...differs in sizes but usually equipped with white coated steel shelves...pretty basic.

And then there are these...

The ultimate kitchen pantry

Small Pantry closet

pull out shelves for the linen closet. in the in-law suite, the bottoms will be plexiglass so you can see what's on each shelf from underneath.

There are so many ways to organize....It might be my next projects who knows?
Let's take a look at these "Dream" Pantries....compliments of Pinterest

This is fabulous...space for all the kitchen appliances so you can keep your counters clear

This is a great idea...switch out the ugly white door for something rustic like this, so beautiful!
