Brimfield

I made it to Brimfield this year! Wow I was blown away and kind of overwhelmed!
It was a lot of fun and so much creative energy in the air...

Brimfield is a HUGE Antique show held 3x a year. I took home one piece of furniture. A rocking chair for $50. As soon as I came home I started working on it even though I said to myself that I was going to wait but needless to say the excitement came over me and I started painting without a "before" picture.....halfway through I came to my senses and snapped a photo...Yikes~

The next day I kept on painting using Annie Sloan Old White.  I sanded it with a fine sandpaper (600 grit) to roughen up the grooves. I ended up waxing it with clear wax all over

All I needed now was a cushion which I got a Home Goods....Where else?
It's actually a big pillow that fits perfectly in there

In other news... I picked out a couch...Thank you so much for weighing in on my decision. I opted for option 3....I know...nobody liked it but it was the most comfortable one and the leather.....ahhhh the leather....so so soft! high back and so great...
Thanks for your help

The question is which one?
They vary from $1000-$1500. I won't tell you which one costs what but I need you to help me choose...

It's always fun to follow the colors in fashion each season.
Here are the Pantone colors and I already have a few favorites...

These pillows I found on Etsy and they come in all color combinations. I love how the colors go together...

Candle holder before and after

Here is a simple way to give a candle holder a quick make-over with some white spray paint and beads. It's easy and you do not need to be an expert. I got this beauty at Goodwill.

$2.99

I took the dangly things off and was planning on just dipping them into paint but at the last minute I changed my mind and tossed them. They were old and dirty from sitting around in someone's storage for years probably.
A little spray...I prefer matte finish. I usually buy this one here because it's cheap. You can go all out and get fancy but this one is fine for me. When spraying I  keep my distance and go quickly over areas and let dry in between. The coverage is much better if you just do little bit at a time instead of spraying too much and then it starts accumulating in crevices or the paint makes puddles.

I went to Joanne's Fabrics where they have a pretty good selection of beads. I wanted something crystal "like" and I saw these, already beaded this way with the jump rings attached so I got 3 strips and did this by hand...no tools needed.

This was a quick and easy make over for sure....No prepping since the spray is matte and it covers easily....Now I just have to find the perfect space for it....

Cutifying

I totally made that word up!
Sometimes we just need to spruce things up with a little cuteness here and there. Here's what I mean...

Adding a little heart to the lavender with a purple ribbon

A key from the dollar section at Michael's...beads and ribbon

These are old candleholders I picked up somewhere and forgot about them until I saw them hiding in the garage. One got the spray makeover and the other one was painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint called Antoinette. I added new dingly dangly things to them now they look adorable

New earrings for this lady....A Idea from Dossa
I love her blog!

Goodwill tray and FREE wicker country hearts.
I love how little things add such a detail. It doesn't have to be anything you go out and buy...just bits here and there of things that you collect!
I am heading in for a Lasik eye surgery tomorrow. I have to admit that I am mucho nervous.
So far the most challenging things for me aren't all the Doctors visits or the repeated scans and eyedrops...it is the fact that I have had my glasses on for 3 whole weeks and no eye-make up for the past week...YIKES!
Wish me luck
