Memorial Day Weekend

What a beautiful weekend! The weather was perfect, a little on the cooler side but that is never a problem for me. Friday was spent sprucing up the patio area. 2 weeks ago I hurt my back really bad. I think I pulled a muscle so I haven't been able to function as usual. Things have not been moved around as much (cough) but I am much better now thank goodness. So I started by going to the Christmas Tree Shop where you find really really great bargains for next to nothing....I started with getting a new doormat to set the mood...

A couple red stripe outdoor pillows

Pinwheels

The outside walls need work. It was badly constructed from the start and hasn't held up well. I am waiting till the fall to fix it so in the meantime I stuck some goofy lizards on the wall....

These colorful tray's were $6.99 and I bought the blue and white ones

I couldn't resist these signs, a little color makes the area brighter

The rest of the weekend we spent mostly on the patio. I had a little get together with friends for appetizers and some bubbly to kick start the season. We took Nugget for his first hike and he saw a horse for the first time in his life and what a reaction.... He was so funny! I wish I had my camera with me. Today we are heading to a BBQ so Life is Good!
Happy Memorial Day

I'll take my coffee outside

This morning the birds woke me up really early. I can usually snooze a bit but not this time. I went downstairs, made my vitamin water and brewed a cup of coffee. The weather was so beautiful so I decided to water the plants and sit outside for a bit and enjoy my beverage. After a bit I ran in for the camera...It was just way too beautiful out there...The place was hopping with activity...Bees buzzing hard at work, the birds, Squirrels and Rabbits it was like a train station in my backyard. Here is the view from where I was sitting and snapping photos

Who can sit still with all this life around? Not me...
I tried so hard to capture the hard working Bumble Bees but all I got was a tail sticking out of the flower

Enjoy your weekend

DIY Fairy Garden

I have always wanted to create my own Fairy Garden.
I looked on Pinterest and saw those pictures that I found to be inspiring
Fairy Garden, cute idea for the kids.Jeanie’s suitcase fairy garden

Good start - Two story Fairy Garden - but needs more to it!

Wee fairy garden. #GardeninginMiniature
Here is what I came up with... Pretty cute huh?

The stone folks were a gift from Iceland. I am not sure who made them but they are adorable. I used stuff I had on hand, moss...things from a Poutporri bag...little stones, toothpicks and miniature pumpkins from last year. I had this wooden fence since way back. I had painted it and decorated and planned to stick it on a wreath or something but it was too big. It looks great in there... What do you think? Am I going crazy?

Planting Flowers

It's that season! Guest time here in my house... That means less time for blogging but the show must go on so why not get the visitors to pitch in.
Here are some more pictures from my backyard, I got my sister to help me with planting and she did a great job with the window boxes in the shed.

Everything is in bloom right now. I wish I could send you the smell that's in the air

Front door flowers... all set, now I just have to wait for the Impatients to come around and bloom

Hello there!

I am into planting the seasonal flowers in containters and using the perennials for the actual flowerbeds.
I think the clay pots add a little charm to the beds as well. The steel container is something old that my sister found in the shed and decided to use it as a planter. I have to say that the outcome is really cute

Here is the guest of honor...ta da!
Lil Sis after working hard in the yard....relaxing with a good book is absolutely priceless!
