Dreaming

I am kinda tired of my traditional Dining room. The table top already damaged from me spilling essential oils onto it and not noticing for few days. It ate away the finish so I have to keep it covered. The chairs are big and clunky. I really love the buffet but the china cabinet is just taking space at this point.

Here is a wish list....stuff I dream of. We all have a wish list right? How about this shelve. I can just picture all my white plate kinda carelessly stocked there
This shelve is from Overstock

Boston Interiors sells these shelves as well in various sizes

And a table

Something of that sorts. Rustic farm table. I love the legs

 A little buffet....
Or this one

I love mismatching chairs...Even a bench on one side...Kinda like Dear Lillie

Something rustic, not quite matching but all in harmony

A nice rustic chandelier

Yeah just like this one
Oh isn't it fun to dream
Happy Tuesday

I shell tell you

Spring....Spring Deco oh what to do....
I went to the Christmas Tree Shop yesterday to kill time before it was time to pick up my son. It is always a joy walking in there...you just don't know what you are getting or what you will experience. I enjoy the variety of people that go there and while I was grabbing some shells I got into a conversation with a lady that had a Chihuahua with her in a baby Bjorn. Yes it was awfully cute and then she started telling me about all the pups she had to leave at home as she rolled out her little photo album and I got to see the whole family of doggies. Anyhow...She had quite a collection of furry friends and was so proud of each and every one of them as I got to hear their names and personalities. So if you think I am a crazy doggy Mom think again!

Here is what I grabbed:

When I saw the Nautical looking bowl/vase I knew that was a piece that I really had to have. The robe handle called for some shells, sand or whatever. I quickly grabbed the last one on the shelf and found some shells. They are actually the real deal, but not the starfish and the  sandollars. I also found battery operated candles with a timer and 2 sassy lady friends that I took a liking to immediately as I saw them....It's almost like they were calling my name

So here is what I did:
I filled the bottom with sand that I had at home, stuck the candle in the middle and filled it with shells. Easy Peasy.

I already had the wooden candle holders. I got them at Target a while ago. The balls with the rope too
I thought it would just be splendid to create a little theme for my Dining Room table....Who says the centerpieces have to be 360....

Here are the two sassy sisters Dream and Relax...I just lov'em

I played with this a little bit and moved it around as I always do...that's part of the fun

And when it started getting dark out  I had to snap a photo...Love the look

Enjoy your weekend!

Dining Room....Love and Dream

You get to see my dining room today. Why?
It was about time that I cleaned up my act from Christmas and put the table extension away and cleared the clutter. So thanks to you...here it is in all it's glory!

Ready for Valentine's Day....Love and Dream baby

Notice that the tablecloth does not fit onto the whole table....why not just wing it and zing it...That's what I did. Who needs symmetry anyways.
Thanks for reading

Slipcover in Dining room

I have been bored with my Dining room furniture for a while. I love the buffet and the wall unit but I am tired of the table and especially the chairs. I have been on the lookout for slipcovers for the chairs but they are so expensive, until I found these from Bed Bath And Beyond. $9.99 each...pretty good price. I bought 6 covers and put them on but there was a problemo...they didn't fit really well. My dining room chairs are pretty big and these covers are made for standard chairs. Here is a before picture for you so you see the difference

So I put my thinking hat on and decided to take the cover apart and re-sew it. It was a pretty easy project but tedious. I am glad I went ahead and did it, now it fits perfectly

I got out my silver and put it on the Dining room table. It looks very classy now and I am looking forward to decorating it for the Holidays

I love the ribbon on the back... I have so many ideas with how to add some little things to it like this feather...

I am liking this new look. It brightens up the room and can be easily changed.
Enjoy your week, I am looking at a pretty busy week ahead. My childhood girlfriend is coming to visit and I have a lot of fun stuff planned for us to do so I probably won't be blogging much, but hey who knows when I get the urge to share something with you!
