Planting Flowers

It's that season! Guest time here in my house... That means less time for blogging but the show must go on so why not get the visitors to pitch in.
Here are some more pictures from my backyard, I got my sister to help me with planting and she did a great job with the window boxes in the shed.

Everything is in bloom right now. I wish I could send you the smell that's in the air

Front door flowers... all set, now I just have to wait for the Impatients to come around and bloom

Hello there!

I am into planting the seasonal flowers in containters and using the perennials for the actual flowerbeds.
I think the clay pots add a little charm to the beds as well. The steel container is something old that my sister found in the shed and decided to use it as a planter. I have to say that the outcome is really cute

Here is the guest of honor...ta da!
Lil Sis after working hard in the yard....relaxing with a good book is absolutely priceless!

Rainy Wednesday

It's pouring cats and dogs outside. I had stuff planned outside but thankfully I was able to mow the lawn yesterday so maybe I can just relax a little bit today...few things that I have to finish for work and when that's done maybe I can just relax with a book!

Nice Hunters! I wouldn't mind sporting these around town!
Happy Hump Day

Getting Warmer

Yup, It's warming up here in New England. I went out to get some herbs to get a head start. In a week or so I will add the tomatoes and grow for the summer. I have always had a selection of herbs but last year I only used Basil and Mint so I decided just to stick with that for now

I planted a couple of flowers just to add some color to the yard
Here is a sneak peak and there is more to come...

And look what I found when planting...
A little Robin's nest!
More soon

Brimfield

I made it to Brimfield this year! Wow I was blown away and kind of overwhelmed!
It was a lot of fun and so much creative energy in the air...

Brimfield is a HUGE Antique show held 3x a year. I took home one piece of furniture. A rocking chair for $50. As soon as I came home I started working on it even though I said to myself that I was going to wait but needless to say the excitement came over me and I started painting without a "before" picture.....halfway through I came to my senses and snapped a photo...Yikes~

The next day I kept on painting using Annie Sloan Old White.  I sanded it with a fine sandpaper (600 grit) to roughen up the grooves. I ended up waxing it with clear wax all over

All I needed now was a cushion which I got a Home Goods....Where else?
It's actually a big pillow that fits perfectly in there

In other news... I picked out a couch...Thank you so much for weighing in on my decision. I opted for option 3....I know...nobody liked it but it was the most comfortable one and the leather.....ahhhh the leather....so so soft! high back and so great...
Thanks for your help

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I am on the lookout for an off white leather sofa. I found 3 that I really really like....
The question is which one?
They vary from $1000-$1500. I won't tell you which one costs what but I need you to help me choose...
