Do It Yourself Ideas

Raise your hand if you love Pinterest!
I have this sand project that I am currently working on. I collect sand from my travels and put it in a jar with a sticker marked where it is from - like a sand vacation timeline.
Originally I saw this on Pinterest and I loved the idea.

Grab a handful of sand and start your own personal vacation timeline! I wish we had done this in Europe. Doesn't have to be sand. Can be dirt from a park, etc....

Here are pictures of my current project
I opted for a jar with a lid on since it gets dusty pretty quick

How about you? Have you done a Pinterest DIY Project that resulted in pure joy and happiness? :-)
If so I would love to showcase it here on my blog...Just email me some photos
bryntaglio@gmail.com and I will take care of the rest.

Boxwood Wreath

Ok....I came across this wreath I've been searching for. Where else than Target!
Can't remember how much it was but I paid full price for it which is sort of unusual for me....the Frugal Deco Chick....Oh well I really wanted it!

I hung it on the famous pantry door...but decided to add a little deco thing-y to it...I was at Michaels and saw this frame. I am not sure what to call it really but I picked it up ($7 plus or minus) and I had no special place for it...well until I met this boxwood wreath

I love it. Simple as that.
I went on the Michaels webpage and looked for it so it' would be easier to copy this idea
 if you desire to...It's called

ArtMinds™ Rectangle Fleur De Leis Frame

They come in one color and there is several patterns available. How fun!

Cheap Finds

Do you ever stop and look around those $1 bins at Target?
Usually it's located right as you walk into the store ...Well I do every once in a while...
I found these eggs...6 for $1...all kinds of colors.
They had a little string attached which I just pulled out since I wasn't going to hang them on a branch

Aren't they cute? I just stuck a sheet of moss on the tray bottom
to make it look more au naturel and of course those flower tea light holders go right along with the whole thing

Cleaning and dusting at my house usually means re-arranging so the top of the entertainment unit got a little fresh update...nothing new...just moved things around a bit and stuck some fake grass into that basket

So these are the changes in my family room...nothing major just tweaks here and there....
Mr. Elephant stands guard as per usual

Inside the fireplace

Once again I re-arranged....well it is almost a new season so time for some greenery...

Here is before....

And After...

I added some Glass Easter eggs I had from last year to get a little color...
Here are some photos with the candles lit as you know it changes the whole outlook

I am so happy I went ahead and painted the fireplace last summer...It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I don't know why on earth I was so afraid to do it in the first place. If I ever want to go back to lighting fire in there I can...the black paint on the inside is heat resistant.
So that's my little pre-Easter arrangement...hope you enjoyed the visit

Adios Reindeers

I think it's time I pack down the reindeers. They have done such a good job for almost 4 months and I am ready to part with them until November...

So, Dasher, Dancer and Prancer are done for the season. I plan on adding their brothers Vixen, Comet and Cupid to the collection when they become available...

A bit more Spring-y look, Bunny has entered the building (Target $7.99) and a Aqua colored candle holder along with that nest over there....
It gives me endless pleasure to change things around by seasons...I never get tired of it.
I know a lot of you that read this blog are the same way...

As I was snapping these pictures I remembered that I had another bunny from last year. I went searching for it but came up empty handed...well not quite empty handed because I found the Easter Box...but no bunny. So all Valentine's stuff is packed away and I am adding a little color here and there in the spirit of Spring even though we have a snowy ground still and it's only February.

I kept going a little bit to the side table in the Family room...it looked so empty without the reindeers

The Tray is from Home Goods... When I saw it I couldn't resist taking it home....
They had few sizes of them last week when I went there but you never know with HG if you see something you like you gotta grab it right away before it's gone
The flower tea lights I got at TJ Maxx. I have been collecting them for some time
So that's what I am showing you today....I did arrange inside the fireplace as well....would you like to see pictures of that?
