Lavender Love

I love taking pictures of Lavender. It's my favorite plant. I got these miniature milk bottles and holder from Michael's (Spring Collection)
It's on sale right now (half off) plus I added my own electronic coupon to save more. In the end I paid about $7 bucks for it. Pretty darn good.

Since I was already taking pictures  I just kept on going to the side table...

My seasonal room is perfect for decorating french country, shabby, scandinavian style....Lavender Lavender...Can't get enough!

Teenage Boy Bedroom Reveal

Hey guys...Miss me?
Pheeew what a crazy couple of days I had. I promised you the reveal of my son's bedroom yesterday but it took me forever to go through paperwork/artwork, toys, books etc. My car trunk is loaded with books ready for donation, clothes, stuffed animals and other recyclables.
It feels really good to get rid of old things and clear the clutter. I especially loved cleaning into all four corners of a room. So with that said here are some before photos:

so like I told you all he wanted was a full size bed for his Birthday...So Momma went shopping and everything needs to be match-y match-y (crazy lady) I was on a budget but I wanted to focus on getting a good mattress for a growing young spine so I opted for a memory foam.

Cleaning an empty room makes the job much easier

The furniture was delivered while the boy was at school so I started filling the drawers with his clothes and made the bed. Bedding is from Target and I decided against a bedspread because the kid doesn't make his bed ( just reality) instead I got this nice Duvet cover

I love this sign...I got it at Target. I have one similar in the boys bathroom so when they do their business they have something to read :-)

Oh yes she did...I put these up all by myself and very proud of the fact that they are all even

For his books I am thinking about buying one of these floating bookshelves that I saw on Pinterest...Just have to figure out where they are sold

 You definitely need your cuddle buddy even though you are turning 13!

The chalk wall is still popular...and the hooks are there ready to be used...no throwing clothes on the floor. Let's see how long that will last!

A Full Size Bed

My youngest turns 13 this coming Friday. 

I asked him what he wanted for his Birthday and he said 

A "Full" size bed...

Mom went shopping since the boy is turning into a teen and he's always been very tall for his age, so it's only fair that he rests comfortably in his own big boy bed! 

These are the before pictures of his bedroom. 

I decided to snap photos without picking up the stuff from the floor but however I did make his bed...let's just be realistic...the kid is a slob and even though there is a no eating policy upstairs he consistently breaks that rule and stuffs the wrappers behind the bed or in those drawers underneath.... When his brother moved to college this fall he decided he would take over the basement and moved his desk down there so his bedroom is mainly for  sleeping. 

Today I need to take apart this bedroom and empty it. I am planning on shampooing the carpets and cleaning the walls (one wall is chalkboard paint- very cool)

Tomorrow is delivery day for the new bed and dresser so you have to wait until then for show and tell.... Make sure you stop by then

Zinc Houses

Not sure if you can relate to me regarding my obsessive behavior. The thing is if I see something I want I will stop at nothing to get it. Of course I am sensible about it, it's not like I wake up in the morning and decide I want to own a boat and go out and buy it...I am just talking about those stupid little things like these beautiful zinc tea light houses

So what's the dilemma? Well since Christmas I have been searching the Internet for those darn houses and if I find them then they are on a European website that doesn't ship to US. 

This zinc house obsession gets stronger every day...not to the point that I just go ahead and buy a airline ticket to England (but....I have thought about it) 

In all seriousness though, if you find a website that sells those and ships to other countries please tell me about it... Anyone else out there with the same urge as me? Please do tell.

Dream Pantry

Who wouldn't love to have a perfectly organized pantry? Here in the U.S people with a standard American kitchen have a closet like pantry. There is a space with a door...differs in sizes but usually equipped with white coated steel shelves...pretty basic.

And then there are these...

There are so many ways to organize....It might be my next projects who knows?

Deco Chick has landed...on both feet

Anyone miss me? Well I have missed the routine of sitting down reading my favorite blogs with a cup of coffee after my youngest has gone to school in the morning...

But I am back and bouncing with joy...

In this post I just wanted to share with you the cuteness of our hotel in Costa Rica...

Every afternoon when we returned to the room there was a new decoration on our beds or flowers clipped to the curtains made by the housekeeping...It's one of these perks of going on tropical vacations...

Vacation

Every January I go away with my girlfriends on a vacation. The location changes from year to year but we usually opt for somewhere warm and tropical. 

This year we are going to Costa Rica so if I am very quiet on my blog this week... do not fret...I might just be having the time of my life doing this...

My Haven

Did you catch my blog yesterday? 

Well I was on Pinterest and started looking at pictures of craft rooms...needless to say I got inspired. I had a little set up already in my living room but I wanted to make it more clean and flowing with the rest of the house since the room is on the main floor and very visible.

So that's what I was doing yesterday afternoon and I am blogging you from this desk in my craft room. The desk is from Pier One Imports, I have had it for many years and a shelf that came with it. It was in my youngest son's room and he wasn't using it since he moved "his office" down to the basement so I grabbed it...I love it!

So now I can sit and almost look at my hubby while he works in his office :-)
