Waves pound, Winds Whip, residents hunker down as Hurricane Sandy hits state. Forecasters have urged the public not to underestimate its strength even hundreds of miles away from where it makes landfall. Scary stuff.

This is the view from my window right now even though I am about 97 miles away from where the storm is supposed to hit and it is fierce out there. The noise of the weather is scary. I went ahead and baked bread this morning in case we would loose power. Potential wind and water damages is what worries me the most. Candles are lit and everyone is safe here. Schools are closed and businesses are down along with public transportation.

If you are brand new to this then all you need is paper and pen. Preferably black fine point pen. The rest is up to you. I keep a little sketch book in my purse and a pen. I have created few nice art pieces and some I have framed like this one

Ohhh Dear....It looks like I need to get another pumpkin to carve this year, My Witch that I carved over the weekend just didn't stand a chance and collapsed on me yesterday. I was thinking about doing something cool like a an abstract thing but then I found all these cute ideas and had to share them with you

So many pumpkins so little time. 

I will absolutely post a picture when I decide on what to do until then....

Sushi Night

I got to admit that while I sit and write this post my salivary glands are on overdrive...

Like I told you in my last blog my girlfriend and her family came to visit last week from Iceland. Her specialty among many other things is Sushi making. She is a wonderful chef and a great baker...In fact we got to know each other in First Grade..... Where else than in our little school kitchen learning to bake Cinnamon Rolls....I guess they are a little more flexible in Iceland and start training you at earlier age. Well...Of course she was coaxed into doing sushi for us- we didn't even have to twist her arm

Let's just say that nobody left the table hungry!

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkins this weekend...a tad bit early than usual but we had special guests from Iceland visiting and we wanted to expose them to some traditional Halloween festivities!

Me and hubby always get a bit competitive when it comes to fancy carving but this year I gladly admit that he outdid us all!
